Items Accepted by Canon Recycling Program

Canon recycling accepts: Canon inkjet and laser printers, Canon ink cartridges, Canon toner cartridges, Canon DSLR and mirrorless cameras, Canon camcorders, Canon lenses, Canon scanners, Canon flashes and accessories. The program covers any model regardless of age.

Where to Drop Off or Mail Items

Generate a prepaid UPS shipping label at usa.canon.com/about-us/to-our-customers/sustainability/recycling-program. Canon ink and toner cartridges can also be dropped off in the free Staples cartridge bins at any Staples store.

How the Canon Recycling Program Process Works

  1. Submit the recycling form on Canon's website with your zip code and item type. 2. Receive prepaid UPS label by email within 24 hours. 3. Pack the device and drop at any UPS location or schedule a pickup. 4. Canon processes within 4-8 weeks; no certificate is issued for consumer items.

Wipe Data Before Recycling

For Canon cameras: Settings → Format Card → Low Level format. For Canon printers: most have no persistent storage; for networked or cloud-connected printers, factory reset via Setup menu → All Settings → Reset.
