Frequently Asked Questions
Does Verizon HopeLine still accept old phones?
Yes. Verizon's HopeLine program accepts working cellular phones at any Verizon store, then refurbishes and donates them to domestic-violence survivors. Non-working devices are recycled free.
How does Verizon trade-in credit work?
Verizon typically applies trade-in value as monthly bill credits over 24-36 months on a new line. Some promotions offer one-time prepaid Mastercards instead. Credit is forfeited if the new line is cancelled early.
Can I trade in a phone from a different carrier?
Yes. Verizon accepts phones from any carrier for trade-in evaluation. Quotes typically run 5-15% lower for non-Verizon phones, and the device must be unlocked or paid off to qualify.
