How we score
Every product review uses a 1-5 star scale derived from four weighted factors:
- Price-to-savings ratio - annual savings vs upfront cost
- Payback period - how quickly the device pays for itself at typical UK electricity rates
- Feature set - count of meaningful features (smart-meter integration, app control, modular expansion, warranty length)
- After-sales support - manufacturer warranty + UK service network + parts availability
Scores are recomputed monthly. Manufacturers can challenge ratings via hello@ecyclingcentral.com with sourced evidence. We do not accept payment to influence ratings.
Editorial standards
Reviews follow eCycling Central's editorial standards. Pricing is verified against the manufacturer's official UK channel and Amazon UK at the time of publication. Savings estimates are calculated against the relevant Octopus Energy time-of-use tariff for the device category.
